Along my journey, I've come across numerous apps that, despite their promising concepts, failed to deliver their intended value. This shortfall often arises from an inability to encapsulate the essence, beauty, and practicality of the underlying idea. To truly resonate, an app needs a thoughtfully structured design, an intuitive user experience, and a curated set of features that bring the core idea to fruition. Beyond mere functionality, the platform should allow users to truly harness and execute its value-added features.

In 2019, as remote work began to surge in popularity, I was inspired to create a marketplace tailored for the LATAM community, designed to streamline the process of offering and hiring remote services. Recognizing the profound impact that 'small details' can have on the overall success and utility of a platform, I felt an innate need to personally oversee the minute intricacies of the product's design. Instead of delegating the task to a UX Designer, I embarked on a self-driven journey to master the art and science of software interface and front-end design. Using tools like Figma, I immersed myself in the diverse aspects of product development, ranging from prototyping, wireframing, and user flow design to crafting detailed mockups. I further enriched my skill set by diving deep into user research and usability testing, ensuring that the end product was not just aesthetically pleasing but functionally robust and user-centric.

Over time, I built functional design components, which soon evolved into responsive webpages with micro-interactions. I then discovered Sharetribe, a low-code marketplace framework, and built an offshore team of developers from Serbia and India to bring my designs to life. My journey into Agile and Git methodologies helped me manage the team effectively. I transformed from a mere idea bearer to a product developer—meticulously building roadmaps, conducting one-on-one sessions, and steering the helm of project development.

We entered a pandemic!

In 2020, the world was shaken by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, compelling us all to adapt to unprecedented circumstances. During this time of seclusion and immense global challenge, I developed a platform that enabled the features needed to scale and provide service to the needed, effectively managing over one million COVID-19 tests across the Dominican Republic and Mexico. Not only was the system designed to streamline the process, but it also played an instrumental role in empowering a diverse team of over 100 medical workers, laboratory personnel, and hotel managers. By transitioning from traditional manual methods to our advanced digital solution, we enhanced efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration.

Amidst the chaos, as many of us looked for ways to find comfort and community, I felt a pull towards wellness and began organizing local gatherings in parks for yoga and meditation. Through constant interactions with our local community, my wife and I noticed that we could expand, so we started "Dialogos", a social initiative with weekly personal development local events, where we invited the top experts from a variety of fields, to chat and showcase their knowledge with their local communities. We were lucky to have local people take an interest and even got support from local authorities, which was a pivotal experience that enabled us to expand to more locations and provide a free experience for everyone involved.

Following the successful realization of prior projects, I felt a pull towards a revolutionary idea: the possibility of constructing tools rapidly that were not only reliable and secure but also cost-effective and uncomplicated to develop. This vision drew me into the world of no-code and low-code development. With tools like Airtable, Notion, and Google Sheets as my foundation, and experience in front-end frameworks such as Bubble, Webflow, and Glide, I started creating. Moreover, I seamlessly integrated software like Calendly, Typeform, Sendgrid, and Stripe into my projects, extending my capabilities into environments like Strapi and Sharetribe Flex. The resulting platforms were not just swift or user-friendly; they were a perfect blend of form and function, enabling me to design intricate client portals packed with features like user logins, customizable profiles, and bespoke views.

November 2022 brought forth a technological marvel that would again shift the trajectory of my professional journey: the introduction of Chat GPT-4. This groundbreaking innovation in AI wasn't merely a novelty; it was an invitation into a realm of possibilities previously believed to be the stuff of science fiction. Drawn irresistibly towards this revolution, I found myself dedicating countless hours experimenting with its myriad applications, all while bolstering my foundation in computer science.
